Leading Insights: Amplifying Voices, Driving Change

Join Leading Insights, a community of Jewish nonprofit professionals who share on‐the‐ground perspectives to shape the sector’s future.

Leading Insights is a first-of-its kind Jewish nonprofit workforce research project created to empower individual voices — like yours — to influence the future of the entire Jewish nonprofit field.

How it Works

Jewish nonprofit sector professionals can opt in to being surveyed and become part of a North American Jewish Nonprofit Employee data set. You’ll get regular opportunities to share your views and experiences as a Jewish nonprofit professional, in one in-depth annual survey and a few flash polls in between.

Eligibility:

You are currently employed at a Jewish nonprofit organization as defined by the following:
Your organization is a Jewish organization (in any way defined and affirmed by the organization itself).
Your organization is a recognized nonprofit according to the tax laws of their resident country or has a fiscal agent that is a recognized nonprofit according to the tax laws of their resident country.
Your organization is based in North America.
Your organization has been in existence for at least three years.
You are a full time or permanent part time employee

FAQs

How does Leading Insights help the Jewish nonprofit sector?

Leading Edge shares research findings, both publicly and privately, with decision-makers in the Jewish nonprofit sector. What you tell us as part of these workforce surveys will shape conversations and decisions “in the room where it happens” for years to come.

What will my participation involve?

You will be asked to answer a small set of questions, two or three times a year, as well as one annual comprehensive workforce survey. You’ll also receive periodic updates and reports.

We aim to balance obtaining valuable insights with respecting your time and involvement.

How will my information be used?

Only in the aggregate — not tied to you. Your responses will generate aggregate data insights that inform decision-making across the sector, informing funders and leaders about what is most important, valuable and necessary to keep our sector thriving. We prioritize confidentiality and ensure that individual data will not be attributed to specific individuals.

What do I get out of participating?

You get to know that your voice matters and your opinions are influencing decisions made by funders and leaders in this field.
You get early access to research findings.
Honestly, taking surveys can be fun.

How is this different from other Leading Edge Surveys (like the Employee Experience Survey)?

Leading Insights complements existing Leading Edge surveys by focusing on individual voices and experiences, independent of their organizational context. While our other surveys focus on organizational metrics, Leading Insights captures personal views and motivations on an individual level, which combine into sector-wide views.

What type of questions will be asked?

Leading Insights will field questions about your career path, your needs as a professional in the Jewish nonprofit sector, your opinions on policies / practices, things that affect you professionally and personally, and more. Some surveys will be narrow in scope and some will be broad.

Is this confidential? Will my contact information or answers be shared with my organization or sold to external entities?

Your individual responses and contact information will remain confidential and will not be shared with your organization or anyone else. Your data will never be sold. We adhere to strict data privacy standards to ensure your information is protected.
